I ran across this tip at an SEO forum in a discussion about being banned by Google. Banned on Google.

Would this work for PP and eB?

Using a proxy is not recommended for ebay and paypal.

I always wondered why using a proxy would not work with ebay and paypal is it because a proxy shows your real ip address or something?

This is from the Tor Website, but I am pretty sure the same exploits work for proxies...

This is why canadians can't just view hulu videos by entering proxies in firefox. (Allthough it is possible with an add on called foxyproxy)

lakeman, what do you recommend for using for paypal? VPN?

VPN & proxy are not recommended for stealth purposes. Reported cases from users here who used VPN that their accounts got suspended.:pout:

manblue, like Greenbean said, VPN's are considered a last option. If you can't change your ip or have any other way, then a VPN would be your only choice.

So simply unplugging your cable modem and waiting for your ip to change is the recommended method? But how could you manage multiple stealth accounts like that?

Hey manblue, don't forget the dialup option. I don't know c**p about IPs and proxies etc, and I'm sure I'd screw up most of the other methods.

My understanding is that if you use DialUp your IP is the dialup company's IP, and they reuse them as people dial in. So if they blocked you based on IP they'd be blocking thousands (hundreds?) of users. I got a dial up account last week. My IP while I'm dialed in is COMPLETELY different from my IP through my regular connection.

NetZero and Juno are both $10 a month but NetZero has a deal now that's $5 a month for the first 6 months.

Use a dedicated VPN service if you have to. There are tons of posts on how to change your IP address, no matter what type of internet service youre using. Check them out
