I'm learning that eBay can see my Local IP, Public IP, Private IP, IPv4, IPv6, WebRTC detection, DNS Address, and plenty more however the mentions above can be or at-least should be configured with the help of
VPN, Right?
Well, when my
VPN is turned on it says I'm in Florida which is fine and
IPBurger.com confirms this, however When asking "big brother" Google what's my location it appears as; Delaware county, Pennsylvania. which is where I am located at the moment.
So to further investigate this phenomenon I turned off the
VPN then went to
www.ipleak.net to save the results, opened another browser turned the
VPN back on and went to
www.ipleak.net again to compare the results and this is what I found:
RESULTS WITH VPN TURNED "OFF"
RESULTS WITH VPN TURNED "ON"
Do you notice something strange here??
1. The hosting IP beginning with 178.9 is in the first test already so, How the hell is it appearing twice when the VPN is turned on in the second test? It should have disappeared not doubled?
2. The Private IP beginning with 192.1 in the first test is also displayed with in the second test?
3. Both first and second test shows hosting coming from Florida?
I'm pretty sure this is a leaking WebRTC requests as shown on the results page, however I suspect much more is leaking like; DNS Address, IPV6 Leaks, and So forth.
Can somebody elaborate on whats going on with the IP and location issue and of-course how I should go about patching this up. This is not a stealth issue for me but definitely can be.
