MiFi Instead of Standard Home Internet
 

Hello,

I am interested in replacing standard home internet service with a 4G MiFi. There's an ebay seller who's claiming his devices come with a service that offers 4g service with unlimited data and no throttling for $60 a month plus the cost of the device ($89.xx).

Do any of you guys use a MiFi for this purpose? And if so, what do you pay? Would I be able to stream Netflix and use multiple devices?

I have been using a 4g device with unlimited Verizon service for almost 3 years now. I pay $150/mo. Data usage is about 300gb/mo average. I was able to use my own device. The last time I checked on unlimited data prices they were $200 and more. I have no problems streaming or using multiple devices. The download speeds are not comparable to cable.

Maybe ask what service the 4g is with, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint. Ask if you are able to use your own device. Maybe he is just trying to sell a lower price device for higher price and then shut the service off after the first month.

The 3g mifi 2200s work pretty good too and they are a lot cheaper if you just need it for ebay/paypal. If you can get cable internet, even just the basic $30/mo package is going to be a lot faster than the 4g.

I use a Flashed Verizon Mifi. It runs on 3G, with unlimited Data. These devices are sold on Ebay and always come with 2 free months worth of service. Not super fast but the IP Pool is massive....and Unlimited Data is also a huge Pro.

Thanks for the responses guys. After much research I'm going to order from the local ISP. The service for the MiFi would be through Verizon and the seller has both extensive history and great feedback on ebay.
