Work VPN - can I use that somehow?
 

I have access to my work VPN from my home computer. Is there a way I can use that instead of paying for another VPN? The only thing I have noticed is that in the properties for pictures that I save on the VPN it includes my name in the path because it's considered my 'desktop' at work. Would my name be included anywhere else on the VPN? Anyone know?

I connect to a remote server to work. Would there be a way to use another remote server without my name attached?

If your VPN is shared among other colleagues that would not be the best situation.

Others might manage eBay accounts... maybe? That would be a weak link but a link between your and other accounts.

As far as your name on the path is concerned, can't you upload pictures somewherelse and use them from there?

The VPN is shared amount hundreds or more colleagues. I work for AmEx.

It might be shared among other employees but I doubt any of them are planning on using them for personal purposes the way you are so the level of risk involved is rather low.

AmEx vpn could be seen as very secure - but very hard to know for sure without experimentation
