Traveling to China. How do I access eBay and Amazon?
 

I am flying to China tomorrow.
I will have my laptop with me which has VPN to my stealth eBay.
Question is, how can I log in to my eBay? I delisted all items but I need access so I can reply messages if I have any.

I also have this eBay account in open inkfrog...can I just log in my open inkfrog from WIFI in China to reply messages?

And for my Amazon seller account, what do I do to access it? This is not a stealth account and I just need access to answer customer questions...can I answer messages via my email linked to the account?

Get a Remote Desktop and connect ur vpn in that Remote Desktop to access ur accounts. It will be really slow but you do not need high speed to operate eBay

Just run Teamviewer on your home computer and access it from there. It works well.

I will be in China until May 1st..this sounds like a good idea.
But what is a remote desktop and how do I connect my VPN? I will have my laptop with my VPN on it...would that be the same?

VPN use can be problematic in mainland PRC due to Ministry of Industry and Information Technology rules.

If you will be in Hong Kong or Taiwan, it really won't be much of an issue.

Just use RDC or remote access tool (such as TeamViewer) as previously suggested. No need to make it complicated.

I will try teamviewer. I suppose I will need my PC on and running for the time I am there.

I won't be in HK. Do I have to clean up the laptop that I will take with me or anything? (in this case in will use apple with osx. It is not the one I use for eBay VPN.)

My inkfrog has token already. Can I use it to answer messages?

Teamviewer will run as a service on your home computer. The server/client are one package and it's fairly simple and straightforward to use. Just be sure to set a good security password and test it fully before you leave on your trip. It might also be helpful to have someone there where your computer is just in case you lose connection, or the computer needs a restart, etc.

No need to install or setup anything special on your laptop. As with any international travel, be sure there is nothing "bad" on your laptop as it's subject to search by authorities whilst you are crossing any intl. border. Remember you do not have the same rights at the border you may have in your own country.

Logmein also works as a Remote desktop access service.

This is what i do. Im living in china now with multiple computers in canada. All of them are accessed tbrough teamviewer. Logmein costs money. It is slow sometimes. And sometimes there are issues. Lkke if teamviewer doesnt connect or your computer freezes and needs a restart. So best thing is to prepare someone to go and restart your computer or teamviewer or fix whatever the issue is.

This is what I did also , Its too slow for me and annoying ,
I started to use with one account only to the Chinese Ip address ( browser has same cookies )

no limit yet or message from paypal , Im still trying this out , if cookies are the same and ip address different country they can cause issues?>

I have used different IP with my Canada, US and UK accounts keeping the cookies in place but my accounts have existed for a long time.

Hello. Yes IPBurger is a decent option. Other options include Express and Nord too. You can call the provider's customer support to ask them if they do offer support in China. There are usually issues with VPN apps in China because of Chinese compliance laws.

If is completely fine to have ⊗⊗⊗⊗ items. Most people do not even notice and do not care for that matter. I rarely buy name brand items it is really all in the name and not the quality

I've seen people get caught out on those border security shows and I always thought, couldn't you just leave all your "bad" stuff on your home computer and then access it remotely on your "clean" travel computer? There would be no trace of it whatsoever if you got searched.
