How Anonymous we really are?
 

Hi, I'm new here and have never used VPN before. If I go on with the steps on Ebay Stealth and purchase a local/international VPN, how anonymous am I really?

How hard or easy will a multi billion dollar trans national company like ebay/paypal track me? Or the government? I guess if they wanted to they can trace you if they wanted to?

If your doing things that makes you think the government wants to track you down then best thing you can do is stop doing whatever your doing...

The government will/can track you regardless of how many stealth measures you take. Every packet transferred on the public internet goes through NSA data aggregators.

The goal is to be stealthy with ecommerce platforms. Stealth isn't perfect but it works good enough to fool ecommerce companies.

You didn't even answer the question.

Example, If you are making facebook/twitter accounts as a whistle blower to expose a corruption that will put your life at risk or expose the President of your country that will link him to illegal activities.. will a VPN help you "anonymous"?

Isn't the government in your country in the process of murdering innocent people for using drugs? The last time I looked into the situation it sounded more like genocide than a "war on drugs".

I wish you the best if you're trying to expose the tyrannical government you're apparently living under. :(

You would be best using a VPN in conjunction with Tor along with a VM of some sort

Its still not totally fool proof but gives you very very good layers of protection

Yes, and if you somehow made enemies in "power" or has connections, your days are numbered. Some fly out of the country and cool off for a year or two and comes back thinking its safe and ends up 6ft under after just days returning. Then for some reason they just tell the media you are connected with drugs and that case is done, 9/10 the killer gets away. Or if they caught one, they seem to be fall guys most of the times.

The "war on drugs" is being used by some corrupt men to kill innocent people no doubt.

At first, I was looking at using an internet cafe, creating accounts there and using it there - that is before I searched the net on how to be anonymous or stealth and landed here.. and on another forum blackhat too. Very informative.

We recommend to never use an internet cafe for account creation.

Part of the issue with an internet cafe is lack of knowledge of the security of the site.
