| Zilligenaire | 08-29-2018 12:58 PM | Verizon MiFi Alternative Hey everyone. So like a lot of you, I used the Flashed MiFi. It hasn’t been working anymore for a lot of people. So I picked up a ATT prepaid hotspot here: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/at-t-ve...?skuId=4800300
It only costs $25/m for 3gb of data and is light years faster than the 3g mifi.
Definitely worth it IMO. |
Re: Verizon MiFi Alternative Hope 3GB is enough data. You can run through that quick. You might want to only upload pics to ebay from cloud storage to save on data. |
| Zilligenaire | 08-29-2018 01:38 PM | Re: Verizon MiFi Alternative You definitely could but I only check on my accounts if I gotta withdraw money/refund someone which isn’t too offen as I let the balance sit for a while.
If you link shipstation to your accounts you won’t have to waste data adding tracking numbers and such. |
| oceepreneur | 08-29-2018 03:04 PM | Re: Verizon MiFi Alternative I too used the 3g MiFi and it went down. I was considering getting a MiFi from pcsforpeople, it's $80 for the MiFi device and as low as $10/month for unlimited 4g lte. So pretty much $200 prepaid can get you the device and 12 months worth of unlimited data. Must be eligible to purchase though (it's for low income people). Anyone have experience with this? https://www.pcsrefurbished.com/sales/buyInternet.aspx
EDIT: This appears to run on the Sprint network. |
| rmulder | 08-29-2018 10:38 PM | Re: Verizon MiFi Alternative Looks like lot of fellow mifi's are down. Sad days. Miss using my little mifi, he's still on, blue light shining strong and green steady with little flashing. Bless him, he never let me down. Don't have heart to turn him off.
Think gonna try out ATT 3GB 25/month, need something other than starbucks, hate going in there. Tried messaging but I gotta wait till 10 posts. Had old account but it was 4+ years ago and my memory is no good. :violin: |
Re: Verizon MiFi Alternative For $30/month you can get AT&T Unlimited Data.... |
| rmulder | 08-30-2018 02:06 AM | Re: Verizon MiFi Alternative That sounds too good to be true MM. Tried to PM you a long winded message but still not at 10 posts yet. Soon. Maybe I'll be there when my new ATT 4g hotspot arrives in mail. Will look for threads to share some ebay knowledge learned over the years thanks to this great place and helpful members.:amen: |

$30 for unlimited 4g? There is no way that it possible, So, how did you come to this conclusion? |

For the ATT Hotspot, I have yet to get a duplicate IP although I've only had it for a few days I have probably turned it on and off around 50 times. |

Then they slowly start to change after a few months and you get some new ones. |

Re: Verizon MiFi Alternative when mine stopped working because of a Verizon update it would only connect to 2G 1X and would only connect to one Verizon 3G tower in my area, but after 8 months or so it stopped connecting to that tower too. But if I went 150 miles or more north it would work on 3G. I could go 200-300 miles all the way south to Miami and get no 3G service at all anywhere.
I've gone 3 months with out adding a refill before, then one time I was 3 weeks late and verizon terminated my number. You'll know when that happens. When you call the number to add a refill it will say your number isnt in the system. |
Re: Verizon MiFi Alternative Probably mean they aren't working at all, as in they are zapping those accounts left and right. I had a Verizon Mifi flashed, it only lasted me 3 weeks. |

| rmulder | 08-31-2018 02:44 PM | Re: Verizon MiFi Alternative Had my VRZ mifi 2200 for 4+ years, never a SINGLE problem, always paid $30 every 3 months online on 1st. The balance was crazy high last time I paid because it never subtracted from total, it just kept growing. Then last week it connected but no internet. Tried logging in to VRZ www and it would not let me, saying number did not exist or it was terminated. They are definitely terminating them somehow. |

Re: Verizon MiFi Alternative ^^^^
What am I missing, I just skimmed though all your posts and didn't even catch a hint of what your referring to....
Only saying cuz I like to learn... |

-- Nate, you may know this....can a flashed MIFI be "reflashed" back to factory ? |
| rmulder | 09-05-2018 11:39 AM | Re: Verizon MiFi Alternative Received ATT hotspot and works, just confused on different IPs it gives when logged in. It gives 2 different for each of these sites
not secure http://www.spyber.com/
secure https://www.spyber.com/
Should I keep log of both? Thank you
What happened to guy dropping super secret info? His posts disappeared? He seemed to know lot

-- Nate, you may know this....can a flashed MIFI be "reflashed" back to factory ? | I have no idea, I would think that what can be done can be undone by the person who flashed the device, I doubt a MiFi has firmware like knox that android uses to be able to tell if the device has been altered. I'm thinking MiFi's don't have much processing power and what ever OS it runs is very minimal. But it's only a guess...
A new MiFi or a Verizon router probably has better odds of having some kind of firmware like knox tho
But there are people who know how to get around knox, so there's always a work around. |

-- Nate, you may know this....can a flashed MIFI be "reflashed" back to factory ? | You don't need to reflash a mifi to factory settings....that can be done on the Mifi itself, I believe most have a reset button somewhere. |

Re: Verizon MiFi Alternative You are Welcome people! |
| mmartin9999 | 09-09-2018 12:12 PM | Re: Verizon MiFi Alternative I ditched the 3g and went to 4g. Bought an unflashed device, prepaid phone at walmart that I activated on $80 a month plan and swapped sim card with the unflashed mifi.
Using EB auction listings for refill cards, it runs be $56 a month. Not bad for 4g connection. |
