Anyone have Comcast/Xfinity? How are they with changing MAC addresses.

Longtime Comcast broadband user here.

I've been able to successfully change my IP address by going into my router settings and changing the last 2 digits of the MAC address.

Obviously, it would be a huge money saver vs. paying 20 bucks a month per dedicated IP address for each and every ebay/paypal stealth account.

However, I'm curious if I change ip's like 10+ times each day, would I run the risk of Comcast seeing this behavior and getting angry/issuing warnings/banning my account?

Thought I read some ISP's monitor and get weary of accounts that constantly change IP addresses if it's a static ip service. Or perhaps I'm just being paranoid.

Can anyone with Comcast/Xfinity weigh in? Thanks in advance.

I do...however, the only way i was able to chnage it was by activating Bridge mode and connecting my Netgear router. BRIDGE MODE deactivates the comcast router and thst will allow u to go into the settings of the Netgear or whatever router u will use to change the Mac address...i can get a new ip at anytime that way...good luck!

I would recommend you use something like Inkfrog and other services which mean you don't need to login to your 10+ accounts every single day, and therefore change IPs all the time.

Have a read of a thread I wrote - https://www.aspkin.com/forums/multip...ficiently.html

Once you manage all your accounts from one place, you wont need to login to accounts as much. :)

Thanks a bunch for this!

Was just a bit paranoid, as the master comcast account isn't under my name (my roomie). But looks as though you're having no issues changing several times a day. Thanks!

Appreciate the headsup, but it's my understanding that you still need fresh IP's to use Inkfrog. And managing multiple accounts really isn't my issue as I only have 2.

Thanks for the suggestion though :)

Yup! No Worries! I'm having no troubles with this setup and can change it multiple times this way. Again, log into the comcast modem activate Bridge Mode connect ur router to the comcast modem and then save it. Log into your router next, change out the last 2 digits of Mac as u already know save it, reset the comcast modem and BAM, new IP. All the best!!
