About DNS Leak

Hello Folks,

I'm using a UK based VPN and I run openvpn on my computer.

When I run DNSleak test, 1st page shows my UK IP correctly but when I go on extended test page shows ISP as OpenDNS and Cisco OpenDNS both from Paris, France and Amsterdam, Netherlands.

As I know country should have been shown as UK too, am I correct?

Do you think now do I have a DNSleak or not? if still I have, how can resolve this?

Thank you

Exact same thing, started AFAIK 24 hours ago. Mid session, leaving me clueless as to if I've burnt several accounts or not. Potentially about to lose a few grand if the damage is already done, and I'm going to be a bit pissed off if it's because of a f-up that isn't mine.

I'm using Aspkin's firefox addon, are you?

Edit: Same with the softether client, still DNS leaking. does anybody have any ideas?

My accounts have gone from the UK to FR to Taipan to Cambodia for all I know, all with kill switches enabled etc. Basically can't do anything until it's figured out and even then should leave the accounts idle for a little bit before they suddenly pop up from some other location on the otherside of the world.

Hi there,

Till I find resolution I stopped working on my account too. I'm using virtual Ubuntu on remote server and I run openvpn on Ubuntu. I have kill switch too.

My IP provider told me they would do some tests. I will share about the result and if you can find something out please share here too.

I have several USA accounts on the same set up, they are not leaking DNS. Everything is fine for usa AFAIK, so seems it's the UK only affected?

The problem was that our upstream DNS providers was having issues with their UK servers, and the traffic was being redirected to nearby countries. There was no leak on your part. We are now using a new DNS provider, which has servers in the UK, and it is working well

You should be all good now.

Thank for you 100% support! I'm all good with it.

Re: About DNS Leak

DNSLeak extended appears fine, but https://ipleak.net/ is displaying 4-5 Taipan DNS servers *my own dns) out of 66, the rest being UK.

Not sure how to proceed.

edit: sorted now
