Getting the most out of phone Tethering
Hi Folks,
I wanted to make a quick post to try and help a few. I have been using the same data plan and tethering off an iPad for the past 2 years. During this time i have tracked every IP address that I've used for stealth.
Recently i started hitting a wall when it comes to unused IP addressed. I find that it takes several resets to get a Fresh IP address. I immediately looked at another company to get a new pool of IP addresses, which worked, but still cost more money.
A simple trick to increasing you our pool size is to turn LTE off. It seems that LTE and 3G/4G tend to have different IP pools. Since most of my work is account refunds I don't need the higher bandwidth for image uploads (do that through inkfrog).
This has drastically increased the pool size for my original provider and has saved me from having to run multiple sim cards for tethering.
hope this little trick can help others. I also don't see why you couldn't use this as a way to tether from your main cell service while keeping your phone safe. If you have your phone on LTE and only tether on 3G then you should be in different pools.
Cheers
