Hi guys.
I tried to change my IP address with firefox but on the advance IP Burger page the browser part never chages, how can i do this? the stealth booklet doesnt show me, or i cant find it.. can ebay see this?----------------------------Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-GB; rv:1.9.0.14) Gecko/2009082707 Firefox/3.0.14 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

You can't change the browser part without switching browsers.

For example from firefox to IE.

It's not needed though, the only thing you need to worry about is the IP address its self.

The name address under the Advanced is your ISP host server name address. It can not be changed unless your ISP's changed. eBay can see it of course but that is it. They only care about your computer IP address.

Just the IP address if you have more than 1 stealth account. ISP is your Internet Service Provider. If you don't like their service then that's the time you need to change it.

also how do in know what my previous IP addresse were when i was in ebay? or does the computer never make two identical ones?

If you did not record them in a spreadsheet, then there is no way to find that out.

do ips get shared around users or is it that only YOU would get certain ips on dynamic up, ie if you get same ip twice it could only be you that got it like that..... Does this vary by ISP?

I dont record ip, I cant, too many accounts, but I wonder if I got same ip twice at some point, would there be a chance it was 2 seperate ip users.

Couldn't I just use a CGI Proxy website to mask/anonymize my IP? Instead of having to download a program, do it manually, etc.?

IP addresses do get recycled. Each ISP usually purchases a block of IP addresses. Which can be a few hundred to thousands. Your ISP assigns IPs to computers when they connect. Sometimes a random one from the pool is chosen, other times it's the lowest IP available that's assigned. Whenever your computer connects online, your ISP records the time, the fact that it was you who signed on, and the IP address you were given. Most ISPs do this just in case a user does something illegal, it can be traced back to the person. IP addresses do get recycled, and it can be assigned to someone else under the same ISP.

Your ISP gave you the IP address so they already know what it is & where you are. You can't really hide your IP from your ISP because they are the one who gave it to you. You can hide your IP using proxy or hide IP software if you want to access websites that you don't want to display your real IP. But, you can't hide your original IP. It is the IP of your ISP which is being used to connect to the internet. Without their IP, you can't connect to the internet and you can't change it.

But in the case of avoiding Paypal/eBay's banning of my IP...a CGI proxy'd be fine, right?

Paypal and eBay don't normally contact people's ISP's in pursuit of the original IP...ever, right? It'd be up to the other person involved in a transaction gone wrong in order to file a lawsuit and then go through the motions to acquire the original IP.

Am I trying to see too far into this?

I've not been using proxy to hide by ips for quite some time. With stealth method, I want to show eBay and Paypal my real new IPs. It's like telling them I have nothing to hide.

NO. proxies are detected by ebay/paypal. Can cause problems & accounts get suspended or limited
