Multiple accounts using computer labs at College

I'm a college student and I'm selling vero items in the ~$200-250 range but to avoid take downs I only list one per week despite a large stock. I mention that I'm a college student because I go to a large university with... well, probably 20+ computer labs. I want to sell the same items over multiple accounts (obviously, I make the listings look different, different pics, etc.) so I can sell more per week, and I thought a good way to go about this was to designate a certain computer lab to each ebay/paypal account and then only access the accounts in the corresponding labs.

Here's the thing: While the computer labs likely have different IP addresses, they're all obviously belonging to the same school, albeit, a very large school. Could this cause a problem or raise suspicion? Also, to log in to use the internet on the computers, I have to put in my student ID on the machine. Can ebay identify the user name I put in to log on to the internet (mind you, this isn't logging onto the computer, there is a prompt that comes up when you open the browser and doesn't allow you to access the internet without a student ID)?

I was also wondering about posting from the same computer lab, but at different times or on different computers. Could this raise suspicion?

You mean different network IP or outside IP? It is very important, if you have only one outside IP address there is no difference what computer use, you can use only one pc but different windows user profiles. Student ID have no connection with ebay, it doesnt matter. I strongly suggest buy aspkin ebook.

If you have just have one ebay account, then you dont have to worry about ip, if it is multiple accounts, I suggest you pick one pc per account, that way even if it is a fixed ip you are ok, and also you cannot change all your settings etc so easily on public computer, for cookies and flash, so its a better idea to do it that way.

ebay can often detect that it is from a public computer, so if anyone else is doing same as you, and gets suspended, that works in your favour, if it doesnt detect its a public pc then you may get association problems..

It's a good idea to check your IP on these computers. It could be the case that the different labs have their own IP address.. then again they could all have the same IP address. Go to IP Burger - What is my IP Address? Find Your IP Address! to check your ip address.

Also like oompaloompa said, have it where you have one account per lab.. and stick to that lab for that account. You don't want to mix accounts up and accidently link them.

Also you student ID has nothing to do with it.. eBay can't see this info, nor can any other site.

Welcome to the forum, Acid.

To add to the suggestions, I recommend you make an excel spreadsheet with all this info. You will need to make sure you do not wander into the wrong lab & make a mistake by mixing up all the details :peace:

I did not want to start a new thread about this since we already have one... IT would be illogical for ebay and amazon to assume that only one person would have an amazon or ebay account. Even if the IP address is the same, and since they cannot track student profiles, I believe it would be safe the use the college computers to sell on ebay and amazon. I am pretty sure that at least 80-90% of college students have accounts on these sites, so it would be impossible for them figure out who is who... Am I right?
