| onceuponatime | 10-28-2009 01:28 PM | What am I doing wrong with the IP? I purchased the Stealth Book. (One thousand thank you hugs for this). I read it thoroughly. I did everything I'm supposed to (I think). I purchased a dial up AOL account and use Firefox as my browser with the great hints. I set up different user accounts on my computer. I perform a CC cleaner when switching between accounts. I check via IPburger prior to signing on (which gets me my real IP) and then after I sign on to see that it's a different IP.
I was just about to start with my second account, did all the same stuff but found that the AOL IP (using AOL dialup) is mostly the same even though I have different dial up locations for the different accounts. The FIREFOX IP seems to change every time.
My question is this, do I sign into Ebay and Paypal using AOL or Firefox? I sign in with dial up to AOL but then should I use Firefox to sign in or AOL to sign in? Noticing that the AOL IP is more or less the same for the different user accounts scares me and seems to link the accounts.
Thank you to all in this forum for the tremendous help you've given me.
Have I done something wrong????? |

I've also read some different opinions about deleting flash cookies vs deleting the ADOBE flash add on altogether. What do the posters recommend? |
| oompaloompa | 10-28-2009 03:18 PM | aol is your service provider - thats different.
If you intend on more than one account, use seperate user screen and keep flash cookies, LSO , that is forum advice but you can delete it all if you want |
| OfficialGenius | 10-28-2009 03:35 PM | I have cable modem, wpuld it be a bad thing to use internet explorer on each user account on windows for each ebay/paypal account? If so, why? or what what I need to do?
Thank you and god bless! Quote:

Yes, AOL would be my service provider because I'm signing in under dial up to a screen name I've created vs using internet explorer. Then, when I open firefox it shows AOL as the "proxy". I can either log into ebay and paypal via the AOL screen name or firefox. Based on the IP being mostly constant on the AOL screen name when dialed up and changing when I use Firefox, I'll be signing in under Firefox from now on. Is that correct? Yes, I do have separate user accounts for each name.
Is it correct that Flash cookies in each account are not transfered to another account even on the same computer? If so, there would be no reason to delete the flash cookies or am I mistaken?
I'm sorry that I'm sounding so confused. I just don't want to make a mistake. |
| oompaloompa | 10-30-2009 07:44 AM | the ip will be the same regardless of which browser you use
