Changing your IP to rid yourself of a "dirty IP"
 

This is something Ive always wondered about, lets say accounts 'x' and 'y' share IPs, but 'x' gets banned. Y then decides to start using a whole new IP, in hopes that it will help weaken any potential link to account 'x'. Will this strategy work? For example, if account Y ever undergoes manual review, will they check every IP in his history? Or only the most recent one(s).

Especially curious to hear firsthand experience here

Very difficult to predict what will happen to Y - it can go down anytime but if it's just the IP shared, it is quite possible that only link may not lead to much...I doubt manual review will go back looking at every IP from ages ago

Once a shop goes down with an IP

That IP is what's high risk if there are any other similarities between accounts, you'll get linked down the road if you continue using it.

We can assume all IPs have been used before therefore, all are dirty. We no longer monitor IP and run all accounts on broadband internet for the past several years. This goes for all platforms except amazon. On amazon we use a mix of internet connections, mostly hotspot.
