Is IPBurger safe on a shared internet connection?
 

Hi All

I’ve got an overview thread on the UK page, but thought asking here specifically on IP addresses makes more sense. I have purchased and read the Stealth Guide some years ago, but as a quick bit of guidance hope you folks can help.

I need to be able to run my stealth ebay/paypal account over the same internet connection that my family uses for their normal ebay/paypal account – without any chance of linking theirs to mine.

If I use IPBurger on my dedicated stealth PC, will it allow me to safely use the same internet connection as my family does, without any risk to them?

I was thinking of using IPBurger (Fresh Basic) as I only have one ebay/paypal stealth account.

Does this sound correct from an IT technical perspective as I’m not the most IT-savvy myself?

Always make sure that you are signed in with proxy by checking your IP address. Make sure you do this before going to eBay/PayPal. The accounts should already share the same address assuming youre living in the same home, which is a small link prolly nothing to worry about though

My stealth home address is slightly adjusted to be different from my family’s non-stealth account, but use the same postcode – as suggested in the stealth guide.

Currently, I use a completely separate phoneline and internet connection from my family, who use another one. But doing this is very expensive i.e., having to pay for 2 internet connections. So being able to ditch one of the internet connections would save a fair amount of cash.

Also, just to mention that I don’t use my stealth ebay/paypal account for selling – it is used only for buying, which should lower the risk. My families ebay/paypal account is also only used for buying.


I assume the IPBuger user guide will show and explain how to do this exactly?

You can read all of ip burger faqs on the website.. and it should be a tutorial video on how to use it

You can keep 2 different ISP internet connections

Or you can use your home internet for 1 shop and add an IPburger IP for the 2nd shop using the same connection

They're both going to probably cost the same so its up to you

So, from what I can understand, running a stealth PC with IPBurger on the same ISP connection as a non-stealth PC should be safe for both.

Stealth PC ----> Home Router ----> BT ISP ----> IPBurger ----> ebay 192.1.2.11

Normal PC ----> Home Router ----> BT ISP ----> ebay 87.4.23.16

Is the above kind of how IPBurger works, with ebay seeing the IP address given by IPBurger rather than the IP address given by the BT ISP?

It's really simple... use your home ISP, connect to IPburger then login to your account.
