Default Question about IP.

Hello all!

Just a quick question about my IP. I run on simple windows with a cable modem.
When I first came to the Forum I was slowly learning about IP's and how to go about changing them or it, I should say. At first I could'nt change it for the world and I even had called my ISP for advice and if they could aid me in changing it, but no success.
One day I unplugged my modem for 4-5 days and shut everything down. When I logged back on I had a new IP! It stayed that way or until I unplugged the modem again.
Well now I have notice that almost everytime I boot up, and I don't turn my modem off, I ALWAYS, have a new IP. Why is this? At first I had to leave my PC off for a while and now it is almost like a dial up connection.

Thanks for any help!

I have AT&T and I got the same as well, it automatically shuts off the modem and get a new IP address. Be careful with this one though

Everytime you turned on you will get your ip. WHen an ebay or paypal account got banned, just keep record of the IP address.
Ip address will be recycled once in a while. Be very careful because once you login with that same IP address on your suspended ebay account, your days will be numbered.

Do you get entirely brand new IP address or do you get the same first 3 or 4 blocks of numbers, example like 123.45........ then the last numbers will change???

This could be a problem as well, if you try to escape with thousands of dollars on ebay fees. No matter what you try they will find you in the long run.

Thanks for your reply! I have been told differently. Because my Stealth accounts running with a new User Account I would be fine.

You are fine Waterproof.

Bobby, do some more reading on the forum. Do you think you are the only who uses ebay with your ISP? NO way, you are probably using someone else's suspended ip everyday and you just don't know it. Ebay and paypal link by flash cookies and cookies, ip is not that big of a concern.

you have found a way of changing your ip, just check it each time you look at a different account on different user screen. I can do something similar, I just pull phone connection out of socket and straight back in and get new ip, always check though that its changed, as sometimes it doesnt...
