IP address problem
 

I purchased a socks5 ip and whoer.net shows that the ip is located in Chicago, IL. Then I registered an eBay stealth account with this IP, but the eBay login records show that I am logged in at Sunnyvale, CA. I thought at first that the ip address queried by whoer.net was inaccurate, so I tried at least 10 more sites that queried the ip address to verify the ip address. But all IP address lookup sites show that IP address is in Chicago, IL.
So, where exactly is the problem? ?

If you are using Firefox then it’s not accurate.. firefox always shows me thousands of miles away on eBay

It's not a firefox issue, it's an IP issue, I mean I feel like eBay's IP address database is different from other query sites on the market, very strange

the IP location depends on what service the company is using like maxmind vs others

as long as its a residential USA address, the exact state/city doesn't matter too much

I’m saying that it’s only a eBay or Firefox issue. I think with chrome it showed my actual location on eBay. Any other website will show your actual location. Nothing to worry about though.

eBay and many big website will using their own IPs database than whoer.net so they will doen't match with your check. But don't worry event the location not match if you doing anything under eBay radar they will not take any action with your account.
