^^^the virgin mobile usb in the UK is weird too. The IP is on a long lease so is difficult to change. Shall wait to see nobody's data :ranger:

in my experience, unplugging and waiting 30 secs - 5 mins or whatever doesn't do diddly squat. it's the same ip address when you log back in every single time :-(

It's a simple fact that some providers and even models of mobile broadband cards or devices are static, and others are dynamic. I would try switching hardware. There are some modems that will always be static no matter what you do.

I was talking with a clear rep that sells sprint hardware and service. I specifically asked if some hardware items were static or dynamic. So devices were and some were not.

the cheaper or less used of a service the more likely it will be to have a static device because it is cheaper to give each customer one ip for small companies.

another thing you can do is pull seals off the stick and open it up and remove the sim and put an unlocked gsm Sim with internet in it. service providers do not make the devices.
