IP address change
 

hello, I just read the Ebook and follow the instructions to change my ip using a cable modem.

According to the book, i have to change my mac address (last 2 digits) then unplug my cable modem for 15 seconds then unplug my router and wait for about a minute.

I did exactly that and yes my ip changed!

Here comes my question.

the other day, i changed my mac address as usual but i did not unplug my cable modem or my router, then i checked on ipburger.com and my ip address had changed anyway.

so, Do i need to unplug the cable modem and router anyway? or i am good?

You need to keep a log of your ip addresses. Your ip will change randomly unless you have a static ip (which you have to request and usually pay more for) If you're ip is now different and you did nothing, you saved 10 minutes. :smile:

Great! I only changed my mac address and did not have to reset neither the cable modem or the router.

I used to do everything on my aol dial up connection...

I am so happy with my new speed now. Somehow i did not read the part for changing the ip address on the Ebook.

Is it ok to change Ip addresses by changing the mac address a lot of times a day? Whats a good number per day?

i dont want to raise a flag with my Internet Service Provider.

hi, i am from HK, could anybody tell me how to get a US ips to use from HK becos i want to use a US ebay account in HK. Thanks a lot.

I've changed my IP over 100 times in a day without problem. Just keep track of which IP and MAC address you use for each login ID. When you need to re-login to an ID, just set the router MAC back to the one you had used the last time you logged into that particular account.

example: ebaylogin bobsmith=MAC 00:00:00:00:00:01
example: ebaylogin bobsmyth=MAC 00:00:00:00:00:02
*note: use each MAC with the proper login.

How can i change the mac address?

You usually do it with a router you may have. You go in the admin settings there is a page to update the mac address.

Or you can spoof your mac address if you're just "computer + modem" and no router in the mix.

Thank you BUT i have tried and non worked out for me, In general i switch off and put it back on and i get new ip address, i realised, im getting ip address that i have previously used too, so i am afraid, i may use old ip address linked to suspended account...i dont exactly know which ip address is linked to the suspended account. also, will i be flagged for using different ip address whenever i log on to ebay accounts?? My plan was actually to have separate ip address for each account, as i have seen on video and read, once mac has been changed you get a new ip address and to get previous ip, you simply enter the mac for that particular ip. may be i dont have that facility ? please help!
