Ip address/MAC address question?
 

I have been reading many things about changing your MAC address to attain a new ip address. (I have charter and linksys by the way). I have a few questions... If I change the MAC address for our household, will charter still be able to recognize us ? We also pay more for our internet to get a faster speed, etc. Will this have an effect upon that? Whenever I've tried to change the ip we lose internet... Any suggestions? Thanks for any help :) I'm a newbie

You will be fine. All the provider does is read the mac number off router and creates the ip address from that. You can change it every day if you want and the modem does all the work
