Ip address change and struggle...
 

I've been trying to change my ip address for over a week, and I haven't had any luck. (I have charter and linksys services). I've tried doing many things posted such as release and renew, changing the MAC number, etc even calling charter and still no luck. Whenever I call charter, they question my reasons for having the ip changed and then the conversation ended with them saying "there's really no reason to have the ip address changed". Can anyone help me? If not, I plan on using the wireless service at my college. Which may be an issue because I logged in to that network with my suspended ebay account and paypal (my paypal isn't suspened btw)... Any suggestions? Thank you, It is greatly appreciated :)

Im not sure what sort of setup you have. But if you are connected from > modem > router > internet, and you try to change the mac, then your ip won't change.

If you were to take away your router, and connect the modem direct, then change the mac, this will surely change the ip. You have to take the router out of the equation. Maybe you have a router/modem all-in-one setup then i think this is no good to you. Anyway i tried to help lol
