Change IP on Vista Tried didn't work...HELP!

Hi, I think I followed all the instructions on how to change Vista IP,
but after I put in the new IP, sub net mask and default gateway, it seems
to accept it, but the IP does not change when I check!
Any help greatly appreciated! tmon
