Would Someone Please Help? Noone answers my questions!!!!!

I really need help I am working my way through the stealth guide and have encountered some problems. I have tried contacting aspkin and writing posts but noone answers. I am desperate to get back on ebay and really need help!

When I type 192.168.0.1 into my web browser and enter my sky sagem router username and passsword the details it brings up are fixed with no way of changing them so how do I change the MAC address? I have tried downloading programmes that change MAC addresses with no avail. I guess I thought this book was for anyone even if you had little computer knowledge but I am really struggling.

I also clear my cookies and flash cookies but don't think I am doing it properly as my email addresses are still stored when I open the hotmail page.

Please help or if you know of anywhere I can get help please let me know!

I am so down at the moment over this and just need a glimmer of hope.

as i know, we can change MAC address if router and modem are separate. If it is a combine modem+router so we cant change it. correct me if i'm wrong..

Thank you both slapped and successor.

From both your posts/links it looks like my MAC address is fixed as it is inscribed on the router box. I seem to be able to change my IP address by switching the router off then on again. Is this enough to avoid detection? Do I need to change my MAC address or can I continue without it changing?

could I trouble you to let us know what IP you are using. That extra info might be of use as well . Dont forget to keep a log of your IPs for future reference.


Regarding the cookies & flash cookies, be careful of deleting them. But lets get the IP sorted and go from there.

I don't think this is the right information you wanted but I am so computer illiterate that the only IP information I know is 90.xxx using sky broadband and a sagem router with a Toshiba laptop. I guess this isn't the right information but I am confused about what IP I am using because I don't know where to find out!
