| Maineone1 | 11-15-2010 03:26 PM | Detecting IP's I don't know which IP's I used on my suspended account. I was suspended prior to knowing about eBay stealth so I didn't keep track. What I did do though was restart the modem every time I used eBay.
Now I'm worried that when I start my stealth account I will use one of the IP's used on my suspended account.
Is ther anything i can do?
Thanx |

| You're in a risky pickle there to be honest. I lost my IP log once and it cost me an account because the wrong IP popped at the wrong account - Murphy's Law
If the accounts are important, and they usually are, get a new ISP if you can.
Or maybe a whole new router may help. But I'm not sure if that will still maybe generate IPs you had before |
| Trader914 | 11-15-2010 05:41 PM | I was told once by a tech that no IP address will ever be assigned to you again in the future if you live in the same location. Not sure if that is true or not. |
| nicetrypaypal | 11-15-2010 05:46 PM | thats false, they are in a pool, so depending on how many ip address are assigned for your geographical location from your isp provider would determine that, but it is possible to pull the same ip address again from the pool. |
| Maineone1 | 11-15-2010 06:01 PM | How about if my neighbor was using the same ISP, and he happened to get one of my suspended IP's? Wouldn't he get suspended? There must be a more accurate way that eBay track's IP's otherwise the IP method in general is flawed.
Hey,
I've finished reading eBay Stealth and my IP seem's to change every-time I un-plug my modem and router and replug them in. Since the IP change's, do I still have to follow the MAC address steps?
I.E Signing on my provider website, (192.168. etc..), and changing the last two digits of my MAC address?
Would my method of simply restarting my modem and router suffice?
thanx |

That is just one thing they look at. But with stealth, the idea is to eliminate EVERYTHING that could possibly link you. And the IP is one thing that we can control. |
| nicetrypaypal | 11-15-2010 06:12 PM | jeff that is correct, they will never ban you soley based on your ip address,
they will limit you based on that, then you are forced to call in, and what they do is then look at inventory and pictures from that ip address on other previous accounts that have used it, if it is the same picture and type of inventory. then you are linked and suspended. |

Thanx | Create an excel file with every piece of info about stealth accounts in different columns.
Make sure you know what type of IP you have. (dynamic or static)
When you go to use an ebay/paypal account, do the following,
Run IP Burger - What is my IP Address? Find Your IP Address! (created by LordLeader Aspkin) or What Is My IP Address? Lookup IP, Hide IP, Change IP, Trace IP and more...
Log the IP
Wash, rinse, repeat. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Keep records of IPs. Dont guess, hope or think you might have a safe IP. MAKE sure. I'm stressing this point. Holidays are approaching and tis a good time to be selling.
Be careful with your accounts as much as you can :typing:
Have a routinue to use the accounts. Train yourself from the get-go.
Beat ebay:cheer: |
| lagoonclub | 11-15-2010 06:20 PM | but accounts are only suspended if they are IP linked (then inventory/listing cross checked) to previous suspended accounts right?
my problem is, i currently have 7 stealth accts going, i use my cell as a wifi hotspot and make sure to change my IP each time, i am worried that eventually the pool will run out and i will be doubling on IPs from time to time, but if all the accounts are in good standing, will this pose a problem? |

7 accounts making money, right. Is that not worth getting a new ISP in the house? I have two providers. Second one is cheap broadband at $20 a month. Its not super high speed, but it does the trick very well |
