Hi guys
I hope nobody will be upset but I need an US IP address for personal use not for ebay. I bought Netflix and I bought a cable and my hubby connected it all up to our blueray dvd player but now we found out that the dvd player is a canadian version and netflix will only play on an US dvd player. so my hubby downloaded the US version (firmware I think) and it wants an US IP address. We can do any IP address whatsover but not US. is anybody out there who can give me one from a router? Honestly I will not use it for ebay or paypal and I don't know who else to ask. Please don't be upset to post it here I really don't know whom to ask and I found the people on this forum sort of like my friends.

Doesn't work that way. You cant have some one give you the ip like a phone number. Its created by the ISP. Do you just need a one time sign up? Dial up to the US on some crappy freenet or whatever they have these days
High speed for actual data? No idea what to do there. Proxy will slow you down big time

Hi Guys
I checked with hubby and he said he can't just put it into the dvd he needs to set up the router in Canada to get an US IP address. hubby can not enter the IP address into the Samsung DVD. the dvd player will only take netflix when it is connected to a router with an US IP. sorry I wasn't quite clear on that. No the question is is it possible to do that?
the software from the DVD player seems to be hardwired to the US server.
the dvd firmware didn't come with the netflix option. so hubby downloaded it from the US and changed the location to Canada but now it seems to be hardwired to the US server. We got netflix when it was availabe in Canada and it plays over the laptop (which is bad because hubby needs the laptop). so he figured out that out samsung blueray player will play netflix too and so we bought a long cable to wire it from the router into the dvd player. and thats how the problem started and now we are sort of stuck. hubby is still working on a solution. PUUHHH
