Okay so I have comcast for my internet provider - I use Linksys and wireless cards in the other desktop that I use at home and then we have 5 laptops (yes we have 4 kids that have their own laptops) that have wireless cards already built in. So I unplugged my linksys (the power cord for quite awhile) but the IP address is still the same. Am I supposed to unplug all of the cords? When I checked all of our laptops and even the other desktop I was amazed to see that we all have the same IP address. I am not that stupid with computers but this stuff is really confusing to me and like many others I read and re-read the eBay stealth guide 4 times and I still can not get this IP thing down. Any help walking me through this would be AWESOME because eBay pisses me off but I have been with eBay for 11 yrs and I don't know where else to go =( which makes me hate them even more for feeling like this!
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!
IP alone will not bring you down. You should disconnect the main plug. (the one that's in the wall) or turn off the router. Once you do this the IP should reset. I have comcast as well. And it's true, all the computers that's connected to that network will have the same IP address. I wish I could help out more.

You sadi it! I hate em as well, but where else can we generate the same sell through rate? ( own website maybe? )
Be sure that you IP address is not static, if it is static then there is no way around it, you will need to get another ISP, or maybe ur ISP can provide you with extra IP addresses.
When you look on IPChicken it tells you if your IP address is static or not. I dont know if I was much help?
If your on here to learn how to stealth out eBay and PayPal then I say you are one of the clever few! Anyway good luck!
Some Comcast services are static and others are dynamic.
It is usually up to the local office and the type of hardware they are using.
I have Comcast Highspeed also and it is a Static IP Address.
It only seems to re-set when I lose signal from Comcast.
I used to use AOL Dial-Up to get around the IP issue.
Now I use the Pay As You Go USB Broadband sticks from Virgin Mobile.
Works great and it is a total dynamic IP.

HWGA, How are you changing your IP with Virgin Broadband2GO? Several people have reported the ips are static. I bought one a few months ago and it in fact was static, would not let me change the mac and couldn't get the IP to change. I also called and the rep told me it was static and impossible to change it to dynamic, so I returned it.
And it's prepaid, nice. I'll have to pick one up and give it a try, hope it works. I've been looking for a prepaid stick like this for a long time. The other companies prepaid prices are ridiculous.
