- IP Address
( https://www.aspkin.com/forums/ip-address/)
Dgoodman | 01-28-2011 10:39 PM | I saw it briefly mentioned on here and just figure if post about it. If your an iPhone owner and you tether for ips, ip manager is a must have app. Also if your iPhone is jailbroken, you don't new to use airplane mode for a new ip address. Download sbssettings and just toggle the "data" button. Just open ipmanager, toggle data, hit refresh, make sure the ip address is green(signifying it's a new one) and your good to go. New ip in under 10 seconds, confirmation that it's new, and no lag with your phone scouting a new network like airplane mode. Hope this is useful!
Also if you already have your mywi toggled for tethering, it will stay tethered and still fetch a new ip. Personally mywi 4.0 is a little buggy on startup so this saved me alot of time:humble: |
kyedbyebay | 02-20-2011 07:42 AM | Using Technology to Puck Ebay Over.... sorry that was mean.... I really appreciate the info! I have been trying to figure out a way to make sure that I have a new IP each time I want to start a new account on my Ipad.
I am new to the forum and stealthing in general....
I just want to make sure I have this correct...:juggle:
I am an out of work 4th grade teacher who needs ebay to make ends meet.:amen: I have NO technology experience... and learned EVERYTHING I know thanks to countless great threads and post by Aspkin, Lakeman, Aking, JBluntz, Ebaylovehate and The Rich Guy in Japan.... and Many Many More.....
If any pitfalls are present... I would like to help myself and I would like to help future members who may read this post to learn how to continue to be profitable on ebay...
What I have....
Iphone 3G with unlimited 3G access (grandfathered... thank goodness)
Ipad with 3G and WiFi capability (And an overpriced data plan for 3g....):mad2:
Zaggmate Keyboard with Bluetooth capability for IPad
Jailbroken Iphone (convinced thanks to the forum)....
Cydia app MyWi
IPmanager for Iphone and Ipad
Vumber
P.O. Boxes
No desire to get into the account making business (LOL)
Just to make sure I understand.... Power up Iphone
Clear history, cookies, cache in Safari
Turn off Wireless from Iphone
Make sure 3G in Iphone (Magic E) is displayed
Go into MyWi application (Cydia)
Select the MyWi option to use Hotspot?
Power Up Ipad
Clear history,cookies, cache in Safari
Go to Settings and select MyWi for Wireless router
Go to IP manager in Iphone to ensure that your new IP is green...
Create new account in Ebay, Paypal, and Auctiva
Rinse and Repeat?
Did I get this correct... are any steps unnecessary or out of order.... I would prefer to use my laptop and create multiple ID's. This way I do not have to be concerned with cookies, and can enjoy the benefits of new ips without driving all over town!!!! (haha)
I want to ensure that I do not get linked... the only thing I can not figure out is how to change the pictures to ensure that I don't get linked.
I think I will just create a new auctiva account with every account and follow the advice of another stealth member.... use the free trial, phone auctiva, and ask them to link accounts to reflect the one I am already paying for.
If there are any flaws in this process or any advice members may have on this process or the steps written above.... please jump in .... |
lakeman | 02-20-2011 07:06 PM | Welcome to the forum kyedbyebay! :yar:
Your steps look pretty good. Here's some pointers:
To get a new ip on your iPhone, turn on Airplane mode for 5-10 seconds. Turn off airplane mode and your ip will change.
Since you are using your iPhone as a wireless router, you don't need to delete cookies on it. I use my iPhone to tether to my computer with MyWi. When I want to make a new account, I turn airplane mode on then off, run ccleaner on my computer and then make the account. :) |

Isn't a new user basically a fresh slate with no cookies yet? |
lakeman | 02-28-2011 01:37 PM | That's correct, but to ease your mind you can run ccleaner. It only takes 5 seconds. :D |
veggiegymrat | 03-07-2011 03:23 PM | The Switch app on your ipad works as different user accounts! Best $5 I've ever spent.
However I'm not finding this IPmanager app on cydia or installous. Any help? |
Dgoodman | 03-08-2011 02:35 AM | It's in the ap store, its not in Installous because that's pirated soft ware and no ones pirated it yet. |

Google "switch browser ipad" |
if you have a jailbroken phone you can also use sbsettings to turn on/off 3G to change the IP address. |

I have an iphone 4s, and thats what I've been doing. When I do, ipmanager seems to indicate that a new IP is brought up. Hopefully I havent been messing up this whole time =/
I was hoping I could find a switch type app for the iphone as well, so that I could save user info+cookies, so that it didnt appear to PP/ebay as if I was using a different computer every log in. I'm trying to avoid paying sprints 30/month tether fee, but I'm wondering if maybe its worth it to avoid any issues down the road. Logging in from a different IP every single time has got to raise a flag somewhere eventually. |

Not true before all this broadband dsl mobile internet there was a thing called dialup with dialup your ip address always change
some people still use dialup so how could ebay or pp or anybody raise a flag if this is the case? |
