Check with your provider for sure
If your provider give you static even you change the modem , should try another provider who use dynamic IP for stealth
Maybe try to unplug your modem/router from mains, wait 10 seconds and then turn on. Let the modem/router settle itself then check ip.... it works for me.
Static IP will not let you change your ip by simply on-and-off - you need to ask your provider for another IP - try switching it off and waiting a bit to see if it changes - you sure it's static?
Hmm unfortunately it is static and I'm not one for changing my ISP. How about a VPN server or proxy? or maybe ebaying from my mobile? Or what if I didn't change my IP, and all my other details are different, including my port number, because I do have a second laptop, would they still link to me?
If you have a Static IP there is no way to force/trick your ISP into giving you a new IP. It don't matter if you change the mac address on your router it will still have the same ip. You will need to cal your ISP and see if they can give you a dynamic ip or see if they have a plan to where you can get a dynamic ip. DO NOT use a VPN or proxy. Ebay knows about most major VPN providers and you will be baned. A proxy is not a good idea either since these are easy for ebay/PP to detect and can cause dns leaks. THere is only 1 solution to your problem call your ISP and see about getting dynamic.
You can Always use Dial up,,,Or Tether your computer to your cell phone and connect to the internet that way, with 3g and now 4g,,,Cellular Network speeds are not bad at all
