I have Verizon Fios as well. It is static, but it's not as easy as it was supposed to be, which infuriates me, but this works for me-

*Log off on my accounts

*Disconnect from my online network

*Turn off my WLAN on the computer (one switch)

*Turn off AND UNPLUG my wireless router.

I have rebooted as soon s 2 1/2 hours and had a new IP. I hate waiting this long, but it's the only thing I can do.

I have been trying since november and nothing.

Only thing i know is that the lease they hold is for 2-4 hours so you would have to leave your Actiontec unplugged for 2-4 hours

Goodluck .... I'm still trying

Try these steps Let us Know if they work, (They Should)

A couple of my steps may be overkill, but do them anyway

(1)- On The administrator account, go to "Command Prompt" and type in: "IPconfig/release" and hit enter.

(2)- Turn off/disable wireless connection on computer(If you have a Wireless Connection)

(3)- Turn off my router (From Power Button)

(4)- Unplug the power to the router

(5)- Actually unscrew the copper cable that screws into the router

You have to leave it off for a while. It Varies from a Few Minutes to NO More that 4 Hours It doesn't have to be overnight.

(6)- Reboot computer
(7)- from Command Prompt type: "IPconfig/release" and hit enter again, Then
(8)-from Command Prompt type: "IPconfig/renew" and hit enter, Close out Command Prompt
(9)-Turn everything back on

This should work

Good luck

Slapped, that's what I always had to do, the whole "IP config/release" business. But for whatever reason, just killing all the switches and unplugging everything is doing the trick. You just have to leav it off for a while.
