IP probs ...any ideas?
 

Hi all

Ok I have a static IP with Virgin Broadband I use wireless on my laptop as you know that means I cant change my IP, I've tried a couple of ways but to be honest one messed up my internet connection so I had to system restore to get it back and the other was more hassle than its worth.

So ive made new unlinked acounts on differnet IPs i.e libary , internet cafe and mates house, the problem I have is that if I want to sell on them I have to go to those places which is a real pain.

Ive just read about auctiva and Auction zealot where you can manage accounts and sell on thier IPS - is that correct? if so whats the pros and cons?

get a 3g or 4g hotspot new ip each time you turn it on and off :)

I used to be in your position with virgin they only offer static broadband so you will never be able to change your IP believe me i tried.

Therefore I decided to get sky broadband and now everytime I restart my router I get a new IP.

Also dongles's or dial-up could be an idea however I find these tend to be considerably slower.

Have you tried spoofing your mac address?

Just log in to your routers cpanel and look for the setting, for me it is mac address clone.

Yeah but im movin house and its a new housing estate and sky is not avalible their untill 2012, only talk talk ...is that static? let me guess it is lol

Gave talk talk a ring and good news they have a dynamic IP and its less money every month and as fast as my current connection , good times.

Just need to sort the phone verification thing out then im ready

Be sure to keep track of your IP addresses.

use a usb modem from 3 that gives you a different ip each time you use it

Do you use one or is anyone here only using a 3 dongle atm?

If so how much do they cost to run or use etc? Thanks
