Ip - mac address link?
 

HI, I bought the stealth guide which is excellent!! I want to ask a question tho before i set up a new ebay and paypal accounts..

I seem to have a dynamic ip as I get a new ip address everytime i turn of my router and restart it!.. but do i need to change my mac address? or will this new ip i get stop ebay or paypal from linking this laptop to a new account etc..will i also set u a new user account on my mac laptop to doubly make sure no link will be formed??

For now, you dont need to change you mac addy - confirmed by many experienced on here so thats 100%

Saying that, my name is Alps and I am a big paranoid heap of paranioa so I change my mac all the time - but there is no need (for now) to unless you got brain issues like me xXx

I have set my computer to change the mac automatically every time I logon to my windows user account. I can have it to a preset value or a random - if you want to know how, search my posts - thanks

I use a mac G4 laptop so can you give guidelines how to change your mac address on this??

Like yourself I want to be doubly sure the bast***ds at ebay and paypal cant link me in anyway!!
Finally if I buy items on ebay and pay thru paypal how can get them delivered to my real address? or do i just get a postbox??

Hi. I dont know about mac laptops so I cant help.

You can get goodies sent to your address, but you have to change it a little maybe by adding suite 1 or something to the 1st line of addy - there are a few posts already covering this topic and the members explain in more details than what I did.

so i know how to find ip address. were is the mac address? maybe I'll looking right at it don't know

I am not really an expert but I use an external program and check via that. There are many to choose from. smac and tmac are good and are both freeware.

You may be able to check it via other methods like typing something in dos prompt but being a bit basic, I dont know too much about that.

It will be in your router/modem settings.

Find out your IP address (ipburger.com) and paste it into your browsers address bar.
