IP issue with Phone Tethering

I have an odd issue I need help with.

Ive been using my phone to tether internet. Everytime I use it basically gives me a brand new IP - which I write down before logging onto my stealth account on a different Windows user name.

Ive been doing it successfully for over a month. When I go back to my normal Windows account I simply use my regular wireless router with the IP address thats linked to my other account.

However just last night every time I tether my PDA Net+ Droid with my computer, and then goto check my IP, its for some reason the exact same IP as my router. Even though my wireless connection is disconnected, and the only internet coming into my laptop is the phone tether, it still says, when I goto IPburger, I am using the router IP.

I cant figure out this for the life of me. Ive tried 3-4 different times to restart my computer etc. In Wireless Network Connection I made sure to have my router connection set up as "on demand" so it never connects by accident. This is weird, I cant seem to figure this out. Anyone?

Do you have the wireless turned off on your cell?

I have to disconnect both my router and my cell phone wireless.

For some reason the phone is picking up your router.

I disconnect everything when I tether. Cable, power etc.

Also try to go to airplane mode on your cell for a few minutes. Let sit and then go back to PDA and connect. See if that works.

Sandy is right on. You need to turn the wireless off on your phone and you should be good to go. With wireless on, it broadcasts your router ip to your computer, which you don't want.

Ohhh I cant believe I didnt realize that.

Thanks a ton guys. Something so simple slipped my mind there. I had the wireless on.
