Hello all. I'm a new member to this forum so let me begin by saying (again, lol) "Hello all." Now onto my question. I was suspended from ebay quite a few months ago (over nonsense of course), and I still have items I want to get rid of. I recently moved to another part of town, and while I have a new bank account, address, etc, my buddy who's a seasoned ebayer told me the only hurdle to getting back on ebay is my IP address, specifically trying to change it, so it is not linked to the IP address on my first account. The OS I use is Linux (Ubuntu 10.04 to be exact), so I have a 2 part question:

1) Is it possible to change my IP address using the terminal in Linux (I've tried using 1 set of instructions and it was unsuccessful), and if so, how?

AND...

2) For ebay purposes, should I turn off the dhcp, or is IP address change good enough so it's not linked to the IP address they have of me on record?

I REALLY hope someone can help me here :pry:... Since this is my first post, if I've placed this question in the wrong section, please let me know so I can move it. Thanks in advance!

I highly suggest buying the stealth guide dude, no marketing, it is REALLY USEFUL, I wish I would've bought it when I made my legit account -_- but hey these forums was a good find for me and hopefully will fulfill success for me as it has done for MANY of others here (: Living Legends xD

this is your ISP who gives you an IP addr and by manipulating your OS only you can't change it. as you said you'd moved on so your IP addr can't be the same and it's already changed itself. please tell how you foud out that it was unsuccesful?
