need help hughes net changing ip address
 

how can i change my ip address if im on hughesnet? tried ipconfig but when i unplug hughes box then type ipconfig/release says error csnt find file spicified it runs through with the box plugged up but wont renew any help would be great thanks guyes and i have read for hours trying to fix this before asking i even called hughes net and they told me to release my ip and i did have a dynamic ip woulld it work if i put a wireless router between my hughes net box then from router to computer using router in the middle? please help

You are the first person i've seen that uses hughesn et here on this forum.
i tried to ask a few questions about it a few months ago and really didn't get much.
I've tried all that ip config crap and it just dont work using hughesn et

I've been using hug esnet for almost a year now.

I have the hn9000 hooked directly to my computer.

I can only get 8 different ip's
Its always the same eight ip's.

I unplug the cable from the back of the hn9000 for a couple secomds and plug it back in. One of the eight ip's i can get will show up on the ip check site.
Its a pain in the as*, but its the only way i've found that works for me.
I might have to unplug and replug 10 times before i get the right ip i need for that particular acc ount
i use one of the eight ip's per ac count.
Hughesnet is much better than dialup for speed, but way way slower than cable or dsl. For the price and hassle,,,i think it sucks, But i gotto do what i gotto do,

I'm curious just how many ip's you can get?

And another thing --- If i logg into e bay with a particular ip number..........it will change automatically.(sometimes 3-4 times in a couple hours) Just check it a few times while your on E bay and you will see, Nothing you can do about it, so i just go with it.:pry:

My concern is>>>i log into my acc ount with a particular ip(1 of the 8) and e bay loggs me in with that ip and i log off with a different ip, what can happen.

Nothing yet has happened to me yet.

until one account gets suspended then you get to find out if they have linked you two accounts that are in good standing and ebay has linked they will not let you know until you mess up.your lucky i can only get 1 ip address not matter what i try this has been going on for ever.have you ever tried a wireless router betweeen hughes net and computer? this is my next try i wish someone could help just tried using macmakeup withh no luck damn does it ever end no dsl out here were i live

When i fist got the hughesnet, i did have an account that did get suspended from e bae and the next day pay pal went pooof. i always clear my $$ so i only had 6 bucks in there..whew.. all fee's paid

When i first got hughesnet, i was totally lost with the setup.
i had logged into eba y many many times with no regard to whatever ip i had with hughes.

i now unplug my hn9000 many times aday to get the exact ip i need. its always 1 of 8

its a pain in the ass, but its working for now.
I looked and looked for answers. I got a few suggestions but nobody really knew for sure anything about just how hugh es interacts with e bay.
i got 1 real acc ount that i started with hughe snet and 2 stea lth going so far and i havent got any problems yet

I still look everywhere for answers regarding hughes net.

if you can only get the one ip, that sucks
as far as a wireless router goes, i don't think that'll change your ip because wherever you hook to hughesnet at is where you'll get your ip

I hook up in oregon,new york or sometimes kansas with hughes

hell, i dont live in any of them states

i hope ya get something figured out, if not, there is always the almighty dial-up. Which i'll be headed to if i get slammed:pry:

I can't change my ip either. Only one. Help. I have the hn9200 modem.
