Default ip address from banned account is long gone?

my ip address changed every time log on.
how safe am i?

i ask because i have one account for buying which i use on a separate windows
users account and even that ip changed constantly.

the buying account is directly linked with paypal. the ip address changes for that windows account also.

the original ip that i used to sign on for my suspended accounts is long gone.

Make sure you keep your cookies allotted and it's fine. My accounts rarely have the same IP to log in and /knock on wood/ no issues.

oh ok. iv been clearing cookies every so often since february on my stealth. no issues.

on a separate users account i have an account for buying with my real info. its not a banned account, but a new one just for buying and not selling. i use the same modem to log on but thanks to some rewiring, a different ip address shows up every time i unplug the modem.

does an old, used ip address show up again? meaning is it reused once its used once?

I use new user accounts and about once a month i clear my cookies from the tools drop drown menu...tools/internet options/ delete everything........i dont ever clear my flash cookies tho.
.
i haven't had a problem with it yet.

Even tho your ip changes every time you log on, make sure you write them down and check them each and every time your ready to log into pay pal or e bay. I've read in here that sometimes they do duplicate. Better safe than sorry

Clearing out your cookies all the time can cause both 1) eb to keep verifying you via pin and/or 2) site glitches where you can't list (see other threads for info on this)

@ cashew...you keep creating new user windows accounts? do you delete the old ones?
i do exactly what you do..just clear the recent history and cookies from the drop down menu on firefox.
thats what i was afraid of..the duplicate ip. i never had to do that because i had an ip that never changed, esp from my buying account,,,suddenly that steady ip address changed. the other day i had to sign on to a buying account and i was worried that ip address was one that came before...i took a chance and logged on.i hope that ip address wasn't ever used before..so far i have seen no duplicates. i have saved that specific ip address just in case. i dont want to log to my stealths with that ip.

@rsot..they did that in the begining when i started getting new ip and not saving cookies. i have since saved cookies and on occasion deleted them. they did have to verify my computer and i hated having calling them. acting like a noob on the phone...i asked them 'why do they keep verifying me' and they explained about knowing my computer.

things are on track now..im just worried about the above...signing on a linked account (not suspended) with a possible used ip.

I've never had a reason to delete any of my user accounts yet.....i have six right now and use 4 of them for Ebay and pay pal

I would think you could delete the old user accounts if you wanted tho
I've always deleted the cookies from my computers at least one to 2 times a month and have never ever had E bay call or message me about it. Maybe because i dont delete the Flash cookies?

i use a couple off name sites(ecrater and Blujay) and i dont worry about ip's with them

Always Always Always keep track of that dam ip number, everytime you log into E bay or paypal. If it ever does come up with the same ip that was suspended, it will open their eyes. I'm not saying that you will be suspended just because of the ip being the same. But if you don't give them a reason to look deeper into your account, its much safer.

If your ip never changes, ya might be screwed.
Maybe get the ol' standby called DIALUP YUCK but it will work

I dont have dialup(yet) or cable or dsl....i have Hugh esnet. And i have only 9 ip's to choose from. Its always one of the nine. Crazy **** i know. I just unplug and replug till i hit the ip i need for that particular account. change user account to that ip and i'm in.

Maybe that could be why i'm getting away with deleting my computers cookies(not Flash). I dunno, its worked for the year i've had Hughes with no problems yet.

oh, and i dont use anything but regular xp pro and windows explorer. no firefox

good luck

when the ip never changed...it was ok cause i logged to an account that was not banned,,,but just linking info...thats ok...i never signed on my stealth under thawindows users account
via some clever rewiring on my modem...there is a way i get a different ip every time. that is where i go under stealth.
i was worried because the ip that never changed...decided to change...i was worried that ip was sued before on my stealths...but like you said its nto enough right?
i have no linking info in the stealth acccounts. i cant believe ebay would really link me on an ip address with an account thats not even suspended.

i used to used dial up and the phone company terminated the line.everything is a dsl in my home. dialup was slow...but the most secure

i use firefox.
