Is VPN dangerous ? Any other solution ?
 

Hello guys i bought a stealth account from Oge and he said that VPN could limit my account. I am from the US and i live in a dorm. So i can't change my ip address. It seems like every time i connect to the internet the IP address is the same. Since i don't have a landline connection its not possible to get a dial up. If VPN is dangerous then what is the other solution ? Please help me on this one.

eBay does not like VPN's - it looks like you are trying to hide something. They have the VPN IP ranges for most of the major providers and even some of the smaller ones. If you log in from them, the account is toast.

What about a broadband internet stick? Prepaid accounts start at $20 or so per month. Remember, if using it for stealth only, you will NOT need a large data plan.

Yes Oge is right but you can change your ip with other options:

1) Dedicated ip
2) Wireless Broadband

Firs option is the best

Thanks Jamcocktail and Jeff :) What about the international users ? If they buy a US stealth account then they will have to buy a VPN anyway. So their account will be suspended right ? What solution do the international users have ? They can't get a wireless broadband with an American ip address in their country. So what would they do ?

What's your concern about international users? That's their problem unless you are not really in the USA :doh:

Seriously you should have looked at your options B4 buying an account. Not good planing.

As has been stated, you have working options of cell phone tethering, usb mobile broadband. Couple of threads below should give some info :D

I will be moving to my country soon. I will be here in the US for 2 or 3 months. I thought VPN was a good option as i can use it in any country. Do you have a solution for that ? Please reply :)

Ok first of all you must try to understand my question. You guys have given me the solution to use the account in the US. I appreciate it and i am clear about it. But i will be going back to singapore soon. Now if i buy a USB modem in singapore then the IP address will be different obviously. So can i use a singapore ip address to log on to an american ebay account that i just bought ?

Dude i never asked you to comment on my plans since you know nothing about it :nono:. Hmm alright so i just need to create a new account if i go back to the country. Then please remove the part in Ebay stealth guide where it says international users can use VPN. Why would they even mention it if its dangerous ? No offence guys :) Just curious to know.

Mr haridhori dude, I just told you that your buying of the US EB/PP A/C was ill thought out given that you are going back to Singapore within a short space of time, that is a reasonable inference to comment on. :suspicious:
