Switching Internet Providers

Since I been having so many problems with AT&T U-Verse, I decided it would just be best to switch internet providers, what one is easiest to switch IP's with and never gives them a problem, besides dial-up. Also speed is not that big for me for any speed is reasonable. I live in the north eastern part of the U.S. by a large city, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

A wireless PAUG dongle sounds your best bet.

I remember reading that AT&T high speed Internet is the best b/c you can turn on/off the modem and get a new IP .. is it still dynamic ?

anyone know about the AT&T high speed Internet, is it dynamic and easily changeable ??? this would be a lot easier than tethering or even dial-up...

AT&T, the last one I had was static IP address. It was DSL.. I don't recommend.

To the OP, a wireless broadband card is what you're looking for.. but make sure it comes with a dynamic IP address, most do. Than all you have to do is turn it off and back on and you'll get a new Ip address.

I use Insight Communications (soon to be Time Warner), and I use cheap NetGear routers to swap out. I get a new IP address for each router. Sometimes I get the same IP for the same router, sometimes I get a different IP address. Make sure you keep a log of your IP addresses. I also use a diff computer user ID for each router. I haven't had a criss-cross IP address yet. Unplug modem, unplug router, plug in modem, wait for modem lights to restore, plug in ethernet to desired router, plug in power to desired router, DONE!

How much is the monthly charge you pay for this service?
I use TimeWarner as well, so i'm thinking if Insight Communications gets acquired by TimeWarner then they'll share the same IPs from the same pool of pings.......

Internet alone with Insight Communications is 69/mo.

Few posts by MM78 on this - Verizon seemed nice if I recall correctly.

Pasicel, I looked at Virgin Mobile's website and haven't seen the unlimited data for $35 - where did you find that deal at? Thanks
