i currently have windows xp and dsl internet. how do i change my ip?

When I had dsl I was able to just unplug the modem for 10 minutes and it would change everytime...

As bsg1979 suggested, unplug your modem, wait 10 minutes and plug the modem back in and see if it changes.

If you have a dynamic IP you just have to unplug the modem for 30 sec/1 min and then replug to have a new IP.

bsg1979 is correct - turn OFF the MODEM (not router) and wait a bit - power it back on and test the ip.

i have tried everything and nothing is changing my IP. I called my ISP and they said i do have a dynamic IP but the modem is designed to pick up the same IP everytime? what can i do?

can i swap routers or is that only with cable modems?
