iPhone 4 tether ~ IP addressed changed during session
 

I use my iPhone 4 to tether my Mac Mini desktop computer so I get a different IP address every time I log in. The IP addresses I get are like this ~

123.456.789.XXX
123.456.321.XXX

The first two sets of numbers are always the same. The third set of numbers are either 789 or 321 (not real numbers). The last set of numbers always changes.

Today I checked the IP address when I logged in and recorded that information on my spreadsheet. For some reason (thankfully) I checked the IP address just before logging out of this user account and the IP address had changed. Yikes! Luckily it wasn't an IP address that I had previously used but . . ..

Does anyone know why/how this happened? I searched the forum for an answer and didn't find anything.
