Hello, I have a specific question:
i go to a university and there internet gives out one ip (if you go to a website and check it) for everyone using it or connected to the wireless network..so how would ebay/paypal look at this, im pretty sure many people use ebay to both buy and sell using the same ip at the same time where others may sell. if all the ips are the same how would they link you? that would mean all the thousands of students would be the same person in the eyes of ebay/paypal? is anyone familiar with this matter. thanks

Also if you log into a computer in a computer lab, it deletes all the data after you log out so how would ebay/pp get info, even if all the ips on the 30+ computer are the same??

it is usually static IP that is assigned to your university. Eb doesn't automatically ban all users but is more careful and much higher chance of Eb calling to check on it over the phone.

so would that mean if i used the same ip ( the schools) and made 2 seperate user accounts on my computer i would be fine? and how would it differ if i used the computer lab where it would delete the info after log off?

You may be ok with user accounts to keep cookies separate - a lot depends on how you operate - still not the best way to set up accounts, but if you can only do this...but why not use your phone as tether? or dongle for dynamic ip?

Computer lab might delete your info - depends on administrator settings.

The problem is any other students using the IP and having their accounts get into problems with ebay/paypal.

Just because you made 'user accounts' may not protect your account, your hard work ,from being suspended by ebay/paypal.

You should truly consider using other methods to access the internet. Consider tethering for long term success
