VPS came w/ 2 ip's
 

Hi everybody, I bought a VPS service and it came with 2 dedicated ip addresses, are these addresses somehow linked or can I use each one for a different amazon account?

You have to buy separate VPS's. Getting an extra IP for $1-2 extra doesn't work.

I bet the problem you're having is that your IP doesn't switch to your other one, right?

One of those IPs that you purchased is going to be the main IP; the IP address that the server is currently using, and the one that Amazon will see. If you want the other IP address to be used instead, you will need to change the main IP to that one. I don't know what your setup is like, but with my VPSs I just ask the customer support to change the main IP each time and they happily do it for me.

Are you using this for Amazon? Are those accounts still up and running. How do you ask them to switch IPs?

Last question, are you creating and address that is close to the VPS IP location?

what you need to do is as follows:
1- Use IP 1 for the VPS
2- Create VPN on the VPS the using IP2 and use it as VPN on your PC

I know it's an old thread. The point was to ask someone how they are doing NOW.
