VPS or VPN: what to pick
 

Okay I had read the stealth book, was sure to get strongvpn for sure! But after reading and researching the forums, I seen that it's only good if you are in the US. I am in Luxembourg and wanted a Luxembourg VPS/VPN Ip address for stealth eb/pp a/c.

Now I had read by some mods saying that using this is a bad idea in the long run. Then some saying it's good. No idea if VPN is the one to get or VPS? I honestly don't care about the $ per month it's all well worth it too me. If it's $4 a month or $15 I don't mind really.

I just don't know what one to use. I would only use it for EB/PP only. IF I could get a little help. I am confused a bit!

So is strongvpn still good or not? And should I get vps or vpn? I'm out of Europe for most of you who don't know where Lux is. And the accounts will be registered Lux accounts also.

Will you be using your stealth account IN Luxembourg?
If Yes to the above question then proceed to the next question...

Do you have an ISP that has the ability to change IP's?
If NO to the above question proceed to the next question...

Are there Mobile Internet Providers?

1st question.
Yes Luxembourg registered and everything.

2nd question.
I am renting and the landlord has a router, and I am using that signal. I can't get my own internet service here.

3rd Question.
You mean cell phone? No idea what good that would do I plan on moving to Canada some time in the next 6 to 8 months.

As for VPN vs. VPS, from what I have read and other folx have posted...VPS without a doubt is the BETTER option.

I would suggest switchvpn.net they have a server close to you in netherlands. You can continue to use it from canada.

Do not get strongvpn. You want a VPN that does NOT keep logs.

VPS offers a higher layer of privacy.

Will come down to the choice of supplier.


Too many wannabes pretending to be in a given country use VPNs. paypal/ebay are aware of them.

VPN's are good from a selected amount of suppliers if running just a few accounts, for more intense stuff, VPS's are the way to go!

Try to get a VPS. They are very cheap these days as long as you are willing to spend 10-15 dollars every month. That should not be much more than what a VPN is worth.

Strong VPN seems to be ok for US users if you make you eBay/PayPal right. Anyone outside the US it seems to be problematic. Just a VPN in general is problematic for non-us accounts.

Is that a problem because of the VPN randomly disconnecting or something else?

I dont use VPN's with VPN's you have no control of ports paypal and ebay can you eat you up in a minute with the common port info from most VPNS. I know they let some slide but if you have any risk on the account it will shine light on the VPN and port, port is huge easiest way to see a proxy and especially if that port has long pull times and is a common VPN port

I highly recommend using a VPS. With a VPS you can setup your very own VPN server.

They are avilable at very affordable rates and fast servers :)
