So I got my FreedomPop wifi USB adapter and after some testing it turns out they don't give new IP Address. I have tried disconnecting, reseting, changing computers and it won't release/renew IP address.

I guess it's a good thing I only spent $15 on the device but I do get 500mb free of data a month, might come in handy later.

I discovered the same thing. I wonder if it's tied to the MAC address of the device? Which looks like it can't be changed.

So it is only good for one amazon/ebay usage.. but better than nothing.

I agree. 500mb/month for free can still be plenty to make some money with.

Do you mean it won't work for stealth since the IP does not change, or did you mean that eBay/Amazon don't like them?

It will work for me! I don't change IP's since I use a new connection for each set of accounts. In fact, I prefer that the IP's don't change, so that they see the same IP all the time. I think that gives them confidence.

So, it will not work if you need to change your IP's, but if you do not, then it is the cheapest thing going. Only 3G is available in my area, their website says they are on the Sprint network or Clearwire. I am guessing that Clearwire is for 4G and Sprint for 3G.

So, it would not be free to me. But they have a 500MB plan for $3.99 per month. I usually have around 300MB-400MB usage on my wireless stealth accounts and rarely go over that amount. But each additional MB (after the first 500) is 2 cents per MB, so going over would only cost $2 per 100MB and I have never gone over 600MB on my stealths. So, a connection can be had for a MAXIMUM of $5.99 per month and most months would be $3.99.

I have nothing on the Sprint network, so it would be OK for me to add 3 or 4 of these to the mix. I like to use different providers (T-Mobile, AT&T, Cricket, etc.) just to make my accounts look different.

This thread came right on time for me as I was considering purchasing one.
If it is so cheap it might be a good idea (for me anyway) to get 2-3 of these and have an IP that never change for each stealth account.

I just ordered freedompop overdrive pro with 500mb. If these mobile hotspot devices have dynamic Ips and I have multiple accounts, I run into the risk of linkage. If I were get 2 devices, would I still have the risk of linkage? Since both will have dynamic ips, would having 2 devices help or would ips still overlap since its on the same isp?

You will need 1 Freedom Pop device PER Stealth, Each FreedomPop device will have a unique IP that never changes, so in essence you don't have to log IP changes because the IP will never change (unless you physically move to a different location).

Could be quite useful in many ways but a VPN would be more reliable and more stable if changing locations or traveling.

They also have something called "Freedom Friends" where, if you invite someone from your email contacts, then you can get 50 extra MBs for free. So if anyone else here is looking to use FreedomPop, it would help both sides. I haven't used it in a few years so I honestly don't even know if my account is still active but I do remember at one point having 1 GB of free data. It's pretty easy to get extra MBs without paying for it.

I've never seen so many n00bs in one post...an OLD a$$ post. haha

Tips: 1. Customer service is Twitter and Facebook only 2. All of their devices are refurbs so don't be surprised if you have to buy more batteries. It's been hit and miss for me. Some good, some bad.

Just wanted to post my experience with freedompop as it seems to be different than that of others. I found I was able to change the ip address every time by not using the software that comes with the device.
What I did was install everything to get it function, including the Sprint SV software but instead of using it to connect I used the network connections in the command center. You have to close out Sprint SV in order to do this. Then in the network and sharing center click change adapter settings in the left panel. From there you should see an icon for mobile. Right click and choose connect. Every time you connect and disconnect this way you should get a new ip. At least that's been my experience.

All the device I had with them except one didn't work or they would suddenly ask for monthly payment. The only device that I still use and works called atom or something lime that. Static ip

Also. Worst customer service ever. A lot of hassle if a device doesn't work. If it works for some folks here I am happy for you. To me it wasn't, even though I was able to use some devices for 4 or 6 months and with one device only one week before they asked me to pay monthly. Their excuse was that my area doesn't support 3g which is totally b.s. I am virgin mobile that also use Sprint with great 4g LTE connection

I honestly didn't keep track. I was actually using for something other than stealth but it went through the data super fast. They seem to always round up to the nearest megabyte. So for now using it is on hold.
If I return to using it I will set up a bot to keep a log so I can thoroughly answer your question.
