Hey guys, I don't know if this has been posted before. I recently came across this service called Freedom Pop. Essentially you buy a mifi for $46 shipped and you get Free 500 mb of data a month with the option of earning more data if you invite your friends to join and you can also pay for more data. This is perfect for me since I share an apartment with 2 other guys and they get pissed off every time I tried to reset the modem. The service is using Sprint's WiMAX network so coverage might be limited.

500mb on a home computer will be gone in 30 minutes. Even if you used an iPhone you still might eat trough it in a week at most.

With FreedomPop you can't change IP's. Not worth it with Stealthing.

Just got my Freedom Pop Overdrive in the mail today, I can confirm that the IP does change. Don't know where you got your information from.

Also, there's a giant thread on slickdeals about Freedompop friends invites so you don't have to worry about inviting friends. I'm getting 1.2 GB a month instead of 500 mb due to the friend invites. It might not be much but is great if you want to use it for stealth account management only. My ISP uses static IP so I had to spoof my router's MAC address everytime I want to change IP and I mentioned earlier that my room mate gets pissed off everytime I mess with the router. So yea, you guys should check out this service.

I got the new $40 Sierra Wireless Overdrive Pro. It is that one that works with both 3g and 4g. They just launched it last month so you might have a different device.

FreedomPop uses Sprint which is known to have either a static or dynamic IP solely based on the location of use. So you both are right, it just depends where you are using your device.

Due care would need to be taken with its usage.

Stealthers just need to not get lazy and keep a log of their IPs no matter how many IPs they think their device gives them. I have good information that my device gets virutally unlimited IPs and will never get the same IP twice but I still keep a log.

The new Overdrive Pro changes IP, on WiMAX and 3G. And for those of you who are really concerned with such affirmations, have no fear. Guess what these magical little boxes can do?

Any MiFi, no matter the carrier, that uses multiple radios for its service can be forced to only use one radio (3G, WiMAX, LTE). What that means is that the Overdrive Pro can be forced to only operate on 3G at all times by changing the settings in the router's control panel. Now, you must purchase the $3.99/month plan or higher to enable the 3G service. But, those of you like myself who have used Sprint's 3G through Virgin Mobile or simply through Sprint themselves knows that their 3G IP range is incredible.

So, $40 device and $3.99/month for unlimited IPs on WiMAX or 3G (your choice). Here is your end all discussion for MiFi's because I am tired of repeating myself for the past 2 years on this forum that these mythical devices actually exist. Do your research, make wise investments and you too can find what you are looking for instead of crying here 24/7.

Thanks unknown, I actually found out about this when I researched Overdrive Pro before signing up for Freedompop. Only downside is that Sprint's 3G network is completely worthless and its 4G WiMax is not as nearly as fast as T mobile 4G on my phone. Oh well, $40 is great investment for the flexibility of changing IP whenever I want to. Apparently Freedompop might switch to Sprint's LTE in the future and all subscribers can get a free upgrade to LTE mifi.

I bought metro pcs just for free hotpot on my phone once its rooted. I get 16mbps down and 9mbps up with hotspot or usb tethering with metro. Unlimited ip addresses. I live in cali. So i have great coverage. I think i pay 55 a month. Unlimited everything and unlimited tethering and hotspot as well.

Sprint's 3G hauls a$$ anywhere in my city. I wouldn't make it my dedicated home internet device, but for operating EB, AZ, PP, etc...it's more than enough to operate quickly and efficiently.

They are still upgrading 3G coverage all the time. There was a dead zone not far from me and just recently, the same spot now gets a full 5-bar signal.

Agree with unkown about Sprint 3G. If you are browsing the net or operating Ebay and Amazon, Sprint 3G is more then sufficient speed wise. It is not the very best for gaming or streaming movies, however.

That also depends what kind of 3G coverage you are getting in your area which would be 1RTT, CDMA REV 0, or CDMA REV A. CDMA REV A is the fastest most recent version of Sprint's 3G and it is more then sufficiently fast for almost all web activites. It is also by far the most prevalent because Sprint has had plenty of time to upgrade and add infrastructure to their 3G Network. However if you are in one of those few small towns or rural areas that only gets 1RTT, then I would agree that it would be too slow to be useful for just about anything.

Very true. I'm covered in Rev A. Once you all get your boxes, login to the admin control panel to see what service it is on. As long as it's Rev0/A, this box is all you need for stea/lthing.

If there are multiple ips, would it be helpful if I got different devices for each account? Or would ips still overlap regardless of multiple devices?
