3 Dongles - No sim detected
 

Just gone to start stealth... But the 3 dongle is giving me problems :)

I bought it off amazon and it came with 1gb on the package which was crossed off with a 3gb wrote in pen...

So im on new user acount, and once it installs its software it says that no sim card is detected.

Now theres no insert for a sim card, so what am I doing wrong?

Any help at this point would be appreciated.

The sim card fits inside the dongle.

Can you tell is which exact Dongle you purchased? It almost sounds like you bought a flash drive :noidea:

well, get the brand name, model number, youtube it and you will know how to do insert the sim

The box says E3231

Seems like the micro USB is internal. Ill email the guy I got it from.

EDIT: The lid comes off and there is no sim card... What a pain in a** :mad2:

Have you searched the whole package you received?

Seems sometimes the sim card is hidden with the guide.

You have to provide your own Sim!

You should find out if its locked to just 3 or if it can use any SIM, and then just ship around for the best deal. I am surprised there is no SIM in the package though, never bought one myself and it not come with a SIM

It does say ready to go broadband dongle... The original box had been opened, it also had the 1gb crossed out and 3 wrote on it in pen.

Now that's the bit that gets me, it seems as though there should be a SIM, becuase if there was not it would not say 1GB or 3 GB. Recommend you phone/email your seller and find out what is going on.

Sounds like you've got a second-hand one. Three gave out free upgrades a good while back from the E3231 to the E3256.

Looks like the seller was getting rid of his older dongle, hence the reason you've not got a sim (he's kept it and put it in the better dongle)

Getting a PAYG sim is easy. Either order direct from Three or pick one up in any phone shop.

So it will still have 3gb broadband on the dongle, I would have thought the data would be recognised by the sim.

Not best pleased, I was hoping to list a couple of bits on my new stealth account last night... Without the dongle though I cant even into the account!

Nope. If you were offered 3GB on the listing, contact the seller. At the moment you have nothing at all. The data allowance is associated with the appropriate sim card.

Really you just need to talk to your seller, and if need be turn the dongle and get a new one from a retail shop, where they will be able to activate it for you and make sure its all up and running.

You'll be better off sending the item back, seen as the seller has clearly ripped you off.

Just a shame this bloody 3 dongle is slow in prime listing times :(

dongles are sloooowwwwwwwwww as dirt.

just use it for listing only and throw it in the corner when you are done.

also make sure you plug it into something USB 2.0, if not you are hurting yourself on top of the cellular data pain.
