My IP address won't change anymore

I am used to changing between IP addresses daily to switch between eb accounts. I have a D-LINK router.

However, today for some reason, the internet won't connect when I try to change MAC address. I have tried numerous amount of times, the only one that works is the one i am using currently.

Does anyone know why? It's frustrating because I don't want to sign in an account using the same IP that is used for another.

Have you tried powering down the modem and the router by unplugging them after you changed the address?

AKasper 07-03-2013 12:29 PM

Yes, I usually unplug them straight away and then wait 10 secs and then plug them back in. But when I reconnect them, it won't connect to the internet at all. Never usually happens, I don't know why it's not letting me change IP

Have you tried changing a different part of the MAC address? I only ever change the second pair of digits and have never had issues.

For example from 00:8F:72:41:E2:1F to 00:8F:73:41:E2:1F

10 secs...hmm why not attempt to wait a full 1-2 min. That's what I have done

I'm with Virgin Media.

Yeah, it's worked fine every other time when I have left it for 10-30 seconds.

And yes, I just change the last 4 digits like you said.

Hmmm, it's a mystery

So have you not had the Super Hub from them?

What's the ''super hub'' ? lol
It's one I was given when first signed up, many many moons ago!
So it's probably an old one!

JamesNorth101 07-06-2013 09:30 AM

Its the new Virgin Router Modem.

If you are able to get upgraded to that, do, and then follow http://www.aspkin.com/forums/ip-addr...super-hub.html

You will have no more issues with not being able to change IP

For a little extra oomph go into your modem and wipe your default gate way you still log on change ips ect... but be even harder to track coming and going. It works great for me.

Cheers i'll look into it!
