Hi,

First of all want to say to apskin you have done a great job on the stealth book. Legend!!!

Can someone please share us some light on using a Internet dongle. How the IP address works, how to change it and so on.

Ps I have had a quick look on the forums but didn't come across dongle ip pros and cons.

Are you sure you searched around the forum? There are hundreds of threads on this subject.

An Internet Dongle works just like your home Internet only in this case you can take it and use it on a laptop, other computers etc.

It works exactly like the IP you get at home. If you plan on running multiple accounts be sure to log each IP change.

In most cases you can either unplug it and reconnect it, in other cases you can use the software that comes with the dongle, Every Service Provider will have some type of software that will connect to the internet.

Thanks for that. 1 more question, how would you change the IP address. Isit as simple as disconnecting and the connecting again or isit more technical where you have to make changes in the settings?

Majority of dongles are dynamic. IP change would not be needed.

Looking to have multiple stealth accounts. And as the wireless router is in my brothers bedroom it's a pain in the back side changing the ip. So I've gone and got myself a Internet dongle with t mobile and was hoping there's a way to change the IP address when switching account. Will give it a try over the weekend and see how I get on.

Just got of the phone with PayPal and eBay. Ahhhh I hate them so much

The t mobile dongle should give new IP whenever it is disconnected and reset. Keep track of it with the excel forum sheet on this forum in the IP section

@ Rsot - how do you reset the dongle?

I have disconnected and left it disconnected for 5 minutes before connecting again. This has not changed the IP address.

I am using the Huawei E3131 dongle on T mobile/EE.

Finally worked it out, disconnect the dongle, restart the laptop, connect the dongle and wohaaa :)

Glad to hear you figured it out. It may also change IP's if you change between User Accounts.

Dont forget log the numbers.

A quick question. Is there a network, or a programme that allows you to manually input an IP address of your choice?

IP addresses are assigned by the ISP Provider. If entering your own IP was possible...we would all be doing it!

And the main question is will eBay/PayPal pick this up?

Not really - IP is automatically assigned from your provider.

Rather than contract agreement and such, just make sure the IP Provider is DYNAMIC - you can change IP on that kind of service easily (for the most part)

the ip is really assigned from your provider however maybe your contract agreement with your internet provider could offer the possibilty in exchange the ip with the same subnet/mask
