Dongle for UK question
 

Hi,
I am now ready to open my new steath account but last night realised that I am on a home network with my partner who's ebay account was defo on the same ip as my old banned ebay (lucky-he hasent been affected or linked )
GreenBean kindly informed me that I would have a big chance of being linked if I use my pc on the network so suggested that I use my mobile or a dongle.
Looking for advice on both of these as I haven't a clue which would be best.
I have a tablet and a smartphone but would still prefer to use my pc if possible ?
Also how much data do people use on average using there mobile or a dongle ?
I can get 1gb included with my mobile per month is this enough ?
Also if I used a dongle which do people recommend and how much gb do you use ?

I've used a EE dongle which is about £12 a month for 1gb a month. Works fine and being a dongle is good as the IP is changed every time its removed. Best keep a log though! More info can be found in the ebay or amazon stealth guides.

1 gb is more than enough as long as you DON`T livestream music, movies, or download big files. For eB alone, 1 gb is fine

I use t-mobile when I need a mobile dongle Mobile Broadband on Your Laptop - USB stick mobile broadband packages

Check your coverage before you go for any dongle though

Most smart phones can be used to tether. Have a look to see if yours can, if so you will have no need for a dongle

Make sure you keep track of your IP's

To OP - 1 GB is enough so long as all you do is eBay or Paypal.

No streaming, torrent downloading ect...

I checked my smart phone and yes you are right it can tether :)
(so much cheaper than a dongle :) )
Just one question - obviously I will be tethering it in the house to my tablet where there is already wifi - whats to stop the smart phone using the wifi as the connection ?
Is there a way I can tell what connection my smartphone is using ?

I do not think a phone can tether while connected to WiFi (although I can stand to be corrected on this)

Three simple sure fire ways to prevent this -

1. Go into your phone settings and remove the password you have stored for you home WiFi, this will ensure it does not connect to the house WiFi.

or

2. Turn off the house WiFi while tethering. Defiantly will not connect to it then

or

3. Turn the WiFi on your phone off.

Two more points.

Make a practise of running this before touching ebay

IP Burger - Track Your IP Address! ( created by our own aspkin)
then look at James' excel sheet to ensure your IPs are 'safe'.

Good stealth habits to practise.

Thanks GB - I have been using ip burger since I saw it in ebay stealth - thats how ive been getting into the habit of tracking my ip all the time :)
And as you messaged I have just been looking at James' excel sheet.
With these tools im sure I will be fine.
