IP address for multiple stealth accounts
 

Okay, so if I am running 8 stealth accounts for example, and switching off my router each time, is that the best way?

In theory I would love to have access to them all at the same time, so could I have a dongle in my 2nd PC, or my iPhone tethered and that would give a different IP?

My problem is that I run the design software on my main user account, so switching between accounts is going to be a pain, but I have 2 PC's and a laptop, and an iPad, and just want to make it as simple as possible to view as many of the accounts at the same time.

I can have up to 100 orders a day in my current account and so I'd like to keep track of things.

I would truly say learn to walk before you run in stealth mode.

No way would I run 8 accounts on just two lots of IPs.

I have a morbid fear of being linked.

You will be linked this way. Same items, similar IPs.

Not wise, imo.

I think I was going to start with one account and build on it, but I think I was thinking too far ahead with my planning lol.

So one account to start with, and I'll probably feel better about it later and more confident.

Just to clarify, on 2 PC's, but all with different user log in accounts, so I'd unplug the dongle/iPhone to get a new IP when switching between them.

That`s right - and you check on ipburger.com to make sure each IP is different than the others.

Great, yes I used ipburger yesterday, very handy site.

I have broadband, but would prefer to have my main account and PC running as normal, with the software programmes I need on, then the 2nd PC will be the stealth account, with different user ID's and the dongle on it, so I can switch easily.

I can use jamesnorth's spreadsheet on the other PC then to tracks IP's each time.

Just need to see if the dongles work well enough, I had an O2 one ages ago and it was very slow.. But worked.

I've got another account from a seller on here, and I want to set up my own, but I don't have any other bank accounts to use for anymore... Am I missing something? For example, if I got up to 8 stealth accounts, would I in theory need 8 bank accounts for the PayPal side of things? And how do you do the verification for PayPal without being linked?

You need a bank account per paypal.

Avoid rushing.

IP ranges depend on the Service Provider, same goes for Iphone.

I'll be just using it for one stealth account to start with, so the IP range won't be an issue really.

I use BT Wifi for my main PC.

It was more of an ease of use thing really. Saves me messing with the iPhone and also means I have an internet backup for when BT Wifi goes down. :s

A MiFi would work just fine in your case, don't forget to log you IPs anyways...for future reference.

If you are using BT Wifi, Using BT Openzone or BT Fon could also be an option for you.

I believe GB really hit home with the advice she gave you on trying to explode with all these accounts. I remember about 2 years ago when I started selling on stealth accounts, and I just focused on how much I could scale up without even learning the basics. Make sure you understand that basic principles that are outlined in the stealth book to prevent little "mishaps".

It's really the small things that will bring your accounts to a following crash. While running 8 account's you really have to to keep focus, and make sure if your using different IP's each time that you keep those IP's logged in something like an excel spreadsheet, with the account is was used on! Hope that helps some what!

Thanks everyone, it's really good advice.

I'll stick with the one account for now, purchased one on here with ID and everything, so it's less likely to get messy later.

One Question though, if I buy something, how do I get them to ship it to my address?

I was going to put this alternative shipping address in the "notes" of my purchase.

If this is a problem, please let me know in the next 24 hours before I buy this item so that it doesn't cause any unnecessary foolishness with this gosh-darned internet whosits.

You can't...unless you have access to the address.

The only way you can buy something and have it delivered to you is if you open an account to an address where you can receive mail.

Consider a P.O. Box for a buying account.

Omg - yes, that's what I thought I'd have to do. (nice email, made me chuckle).

MM78 - Not sure if PO BOX addresses are as common here in the UK? But thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into it.

You can get po boxes in UK Geegee83 - I operate that way only out there :)

To be on the ball, you have access to the address.

It is seriously the most sensible way to run an account.

Sadly there are SELLERS in the UK who will report you to ebay if you ask for a variation on addresses.

Forgot also about tweaking addresses, postcodes. UK ebay does many more reviews than the other platforms.

They FIND out that the address is related to suspended accounts.

It is not good stealth to compromise the account for the sake of getting access to an address.

Okay, so I've purchased an account from a seller on here, so I don't want to change that to a PO Box, won't that raise some suspicions?

Also, how do you get the address verification if requested? I have a few credit cards in my real details, would they suffice?

I'm just struggling with the initial setting up of the details. I'll read the stealth guide again tonight and see if I've missed anything.

I can buy cheap items that I'm not bothered about receiving if that would be best?

So, the account I've purchased is already registered at an address, would I change that to a PO Box?

Arghh, sorry, I'm so confused about how I'll get more than one account going. :s

I don't get how I'll get different eBay accounts with different names/addresses and still get the mail and be able to prove my ID with PayPal or eBay?

Can anyone shed some light?

So, I currently have the purchased account with ID and Paypal verification.

If I want another account that I start myself from scratch, how am I going to be able to verify the account later? am I being thick?

So I would need some pre-pay ones? Are they sufficient? and what if PayPal want ID sending to them? or does that not usually happen unless you go over the top?

I want to build the accounts very slowly, I don't need them but I want to have them going for the future, if the worst happens.

1. Use prepaid ones - they will work fine for confirmation.

2. You could change address slowly over time to po box but not right away - first build some PP credibility - just need to add the address in

1) Get a prepaid card.
2) Open eBay and Paypal in the same name and address as prepaid card. (use different bank account for each account).
3) Change address later on in 12 months maybe.

I'm starting to get it now!

I only have 1 spare bank account, so I'll have to wait until I can get more.

I applied for another bank yesterday but got rejected, I just got car finance so I'm guessing that might be why.. I do have savings accounts linked to a Natwest Bank, would that work? Or is there another way around the bank account side of things?

Don't worry GB, I'm still following your advice :redface: I just want to make sure I'm sure about it all before I start. I've not logged into my purchased account yet, for fear of messing it up!

Prepaid card will not have a name on it. With Entro you register under your real info, generate a VCC and use that on PP and EB with your stealth info.

Try a basic account, or other accounts with your current bank. Always easier to open these.

Thanks James, I've been searching the threads about entro, I've got a bit of info on it now. Tried to open an account but its not letting me get past the first screen, could be the iPad I'm on, so I'll try tomorrow on the PC.

Ordered a miFi, once here I'll log into the new stealth account that is waiting.

I'll have a look at a new bank account, might leave my credit rating to cool down a bit first tho, too many searches is bad.

Can I still open new eBay and PayPal accounts but not attach a bank account to them yet?

HSBC, but I have a bankruptcy on my file from nearly 6yrs ago, once that drops off in December it'll be a lot better.

I have 3 bank accounts already, 2 are already linked to my main acct. 1 is clean, never used.

I don't need another yet, you're right, I was rushing. I'll just build the one acct up and sit tight until the credit file is better. :s

Slow and steady wins the eBay stealth race

Slower you go, less likely to make mistakes, and in the long term have stronger accounts.

I've realised that the account I purchased has a VCC attached and all PayPal limits removed, so that's going to be easier than I thought.

Thanks rsot, yes, I'm going to build it ultra slow as I'm in no major need to get a 2nd account for selling yet, so I've got time to do this slowly.

Just want to make sure I'm in a good position if the worst happens on my main account.
