Getting a new IP address
 

Okay so I recently had 2 linked ebay accounts suspended indefinitely so Ive decided to go the stealth route. Anyways I live in a very large apartment complex and I was wondering if ebay could link my new account because of the Ip address if Im using the wifi given to me publicly by my complex? If so how do I go about changing my ip if im using a wireless router?

You will probably not want to use public wifi as you dont control getting a new IP and what others are doing on the connection. How to change your IP will depend on your connection type (dsl, cable, wireless..etc).

Well Im connected through a linksys wireless router. Ive been trying to change the IP but nothing seems to work. What should I go about doing if I plan on using multiple stealth accounts?

Did you turn off the MODEM and wait before turning on? Not the router - if you cant access the apartment modem, your IP changing is going to be a problem!

Look at dongle or cellphone tethering...

Check that you even can do this.

Some apartment buildings restrict their tenants access to changing IPs.

Best to get your own IP anyway OP - dongle is cheap these days, cellphone tethering if you have smartphone too.

You don't want an IP used by a bunch of apartment residents...
